French Teacher Specialist
Who We Are:
Kawartha Montessori School (KMS) is the only CCMA accredited Montessori school within the beautiful Kawartha area. Our campus is located on 10 acres directly beside Mark S. Burnham Provincial Park and we have been in operation for 43 years. We have a dynamic team of dedicated staff an engaged parent community and a committed volunteer Board of Directors. Your Role at KMS:
We wish to recruit a creative passionate and committed French teacher to fill a 0.8 role beginning August 25 2025. As a key member of our school you will deliver a vibrant educational French program grounded in Montessori pedagogy the Ontario Ministry of Education Curriculum and AIM programming to students from preschool to grade 8. Students are taught in small groups (between 813 students). The successful candidate should be adept at working in a fastpaced and complex school environment. They should possess excellent skills in organization decisionmaking and oral and written communication.
Qualifications/Skills:
- Undergraduate degree
- Bachelor of Education (preferable but not essential)
- Fluency in French (spoken and written)
- Familiarity with AIM Program (an asset but not essential)
- Experience teaching children or youth with a passion for education
- Understanding of Montessori education and pedagogy (asset)
- Effective classroom management skills
- Knowledge of learning differences and exceptionalities
- Maturity patience and a friendly demeanor
- A criminal reference check with vulnerable sector screening prior to start date
- Hold a current First Aid certification with Child/Infant CPR
