Supernal provides an inviting openspace workplace designed to foster collaboration which aligns with one of our core values. This position is required to work onsite 5 days a week.

What we do:

The Sr. Benefits Specialist will be responsible for assisting with the administration of all benefits and retirement programs including but not limited to medical dental vision life insurance leaves short and longterm disability workers compensation 401(k) plan and the vehicle lease program. The position also maintains working knowledge of the federal and state legislation influencing benefits to ensure programs are current with regulations and practices trends and costs. The candidate selected in this position will primarily support Medical Accommodation and Leave of Absence.

This position will be required to work onsite 5 days a week.

What you can do:

  • Ensure the accuracy of all benefits enrollments providing vendors with accurate eligibility information
  • Ensure compliance with DOL COBRA ACA HIPAA FMLA ADA ERISA and any other applicable Federal State and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation obtaining qualified opinions enforcing adherence to requirements and advising management on needed actions
  • Understand and interpret the differences between California Family Rights Act (CFRA) and Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA)
  • Assist with newhire orientations as needed.
  • Perform quality checks of benefitsrelated data
  • Assist employees regarding benefits claim issues and plan changes
  • Distribute all benefits enrollment materials and determines eligibility
  • Enroll employees with carriers and process life status changes
  • Respond to benefits inquiries from managers and employees on plan provisions benefits enrollments status changes and other general inquiries
  • Process and administer leaveofabsence requests and disability paperwork inclusive of medical personal disability and FMLA
  • Effectively interpret FMLA and ADA implications as they relate to leaves of absences/disabilities
  • Respond to retirement inquiries from managers and employees relating to enrollments plan changes loans and contribution amounts
  • Assist with the annual catchup contribution enrollment
  • Assist with the organizations retirement plan including ongoing compliance testing and plan review
  • Assist with the open enrollment process
  • Provide necessary reports for allocation/billing charges
  • Ensure the accuracy and compliance of all benefitsrelated filings
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Ability to travel up to 10 domestically and internationally

What you can contribute:

  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources Business Administration or related field required.
  • Minimum of five 5 years of relevant Leave and Medical Accommodation experience in a corporate setting.
  • Minimum of ten 10 years of extensive employee benefits administration experience where direct support was provided.
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organizations HRIS and talent management systems (ADP Workforce Now)
  • Minimum of ten 10 years of extensive proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel Word PowerPoint etc.
  • Excellent communication skills with an emphasis on tone tact and diplomacy were provided in escalated environments.
  • Excellent interpersonal negotiation and conflict resolution skills
  • Minimum of three 3 or more years of vendor management experience.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate
  • Ability to act with integrity professionalism and confidentiality


You may also be able to contribute:

  • HR certification preferred
  • Experience with Zendesk and Bswift is a plus
  • Knowledge of Confluence a plus

Base pay offered may vary depending on skills experience jobrelated knowledge and location. This position is also eligible for a bonus as part of total compensation.

The pay range for this position is:

$110391 $122011 USD
