GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES
Provides individual and group recreational social and skills training services under a professionally developed service plan; keeps records of persons served status; performs service plan directed case management functions under close supervision; performs related duties as required. Primary responsibility of this class is to assist and support other mental health professionals without primary responsibility for a caseload.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED
Works under close supervision of a supervisor who assigns work establishes goals and reviews the results obtained for overall effectiveness.

SUPERVISION EXERCISED
Supervision of others is not a responsibility of positions in this classification.

Typical Duties Duties include but are not limited to the following

Provide behavioral health services to a specialized older adult population and/or individuals who are physically and/or neurocognitively impacted with serious and persistent mental health conditions; may include cooccurring substance use disorders and/or individuals with severe mental illness who dont fall into the above categories. Performs work using a personcentered strengthsbased recoveryoriented traumainformed culturallysensitive and ethicallyguided approach. Inperson assignment is split between Enhanced Care Services (ECS a locked Intermediate Care Facility (ICF) setting) and Adult Behavioral Health. Services also provided in other Aging and People with Disabilities (APD) licensed settings and community settings and include:

Skills Training
  • Provide inperson individual and group skills training in accordance with the individualized service plan in order to move individuals toward recovery independence and community integration. Skill training areas include activities of daily living (ADLs) and instrumental activities of daily living (IALDs) such as hygiene medication management and support grocery shopping cooking obtaining benefits and entitlements scheduling appointments transportation social skills development of individuals natural supports community integration development of individuals natural supports etc.
  • Prepare scheduled activities for ECS residents in conjunction with the QMHP.
Case Management
  • Provide treatment plan directed case management to assist individuals in accessing community services supports and housing. Case management includes making referrals and coordinating with other agencies to obtain services and resources for individuals; advocacy and brokerage on behalf of client to access community resources benefits and entitlements; and monitoring services.
  • Maintain professional relationships with APD licensed partners listed above and participate in intraagency and interagency case staffings for purposes of evaluation and treatment planning for individuals.
  • Transport individuals to appointments and resource linkage.
  • Conduct preliminary screenings for ECS referrals and communicates information to treatment team members.
Behavior Intervention
  • Identify health and safety risks to self or others; apply crisis prevention management and deescalation skills; assist RCF NF and APD licensed setting staff/caregivers in behavioral emergency prevention and management.
  • Directly observe persons served and track progress and outcomes relevant to positive behavioral support and service plan goals involving complex behaviors.
  • Accompany persons to community appointments when behavioral interventions are necessary.
Documentation
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with federal state county and treatment program requirements under the direction of the clinical supervisor.
  • Meet performance expectations for time and billing standards.
Miscellaneous
  • Work with a team of clinicians and supervisor for clinical supervision treatment planning staff and departmental meetings and trainings.
  • Participate fully as a supportive reliable positive collaborative and professional team member during the development of individual treatment planning daily clinical team meetings and client crisis intervention.
  • Employee must be able to drive county vehicles to perform work at various sites.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Response Level 2: In the event of an emergency employee makes a reasonable effort to report to work. Employee may be required to perform duties outside of their regularly assigned duties. Employee may be requested to work an extended or flexible schedule. Staff at this response level must complete Incident Command System 100 and 700 online or inperson training.

Requirements for the Position

EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING

  1. Three years relevant work experience in a behavioral health services field; OR
  2. Bachelors degree in a behavioral science field; OR
  3. Any satisfactory combination of work education training or experience relevant to the position as determined by Marion County.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTSKNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Working knowledge of the general concepts of mental health (including common symptoms for major behavioral health conditions) and chemical dependency as well as community resources; deescalation crisis intervention and engagement strategies; strengthsbased resiliency and recovery models; definitions of basic and communityliving skills; measurable goals/outcomes of mental health recovery substance use disorders recovery and cooccurring disorders recovery; evidencebased strategies for skills training and improving overall health; daily living activities that promote health and wellness.

Ability to demonstrate active listening skills and interviewing techniques; establish effective working relationships with diverse individuals and foster shared decisionmaking with behavioral health consumers family members and providers; clearly convey information about behavioral and general health; exercise cultural and traumainformed competency when linking to resources; follow directions and accept feedback in a professional manner; prepare reports and document services provided to persons served in a timely and professional manner with clarity conciseness and completeness; work within an interdisciplinary team; practice appropriate boundaries with consumers; recognize unsafe situations.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Operates a motor vehicle; sees using depth perception; stands; sits; moves about the work area; bends forward; climbs 1 floor of stairs; lifts pushes pulls and carries up to 15 lbs.; moves carts weighing up to 15 lbs.; operates a keyboard; speaks clearly and audibly; reads a 12 pt. font; hears a normal level of speech; works in areas that may be exposed to heat cold humidity dust smoke noise and household chemicals; may work in wet or uneven areas.

PUBLIC SERVICE LOAN FORGIVENESS
Marion County is a qualifying public employer for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program. Through the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program fulltime employees working at the County may qualify for forgiveness of the remaining balance on Direct Loans after 120 qualifying monthly payments under a qualifying repayment plan. Questions about your loan eligibility should be directed to your loan servicer or the US Department of Education.

Marion County does not offer VISA sponsorship.
