We seek a highly organised and proactive Production Supervisor to oversee night shift operations at our fresh blueberry processing facility. The ideal candidate will ensure smooth safe and efficient production during the night shift while maintaining high product quality standards traceability and compliance. Strong skills in planning computer systems and clear communication are essential to succeed in this role.
Key Performance Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily night shift activities in the blueberry packing area.
- Ensure consistently met production targets quality standards and food safety protocols.
- Plan labour and machine resources effectively to meet production schedules and minimise downtime.
- Monitor equipment performance and coordinate with maintenance for timely repairs.
- Use Netsuite to pack and manage blueberries from receiving to dispatch and generate reports.
- Lead and motivate the night shift team ensuring company policies and safety guidelines are adhered to.
- Communicate clearly with day shift supervisors and managers to ensure smooth handovers and continuity of operations.
- Identify process improvement opportunities and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain accurate production output labour materials and incident records.
Requirements
Experience / Qualifications
- Postsecondary education in food science operations management IT engineering supply chain logistics or other related fields.
- Experience with automated packing equipment or sorting systems.
- 3 5 years experience
Functional / Technical
- Prior supervisory experience in a fresh produce environment primarily sorting and grading raw materials (blueberry experience a plus).
- Strong computer proficiency (e.g. Excel ERP systems production software).
- Excellent planning and organisational skills.
- Clear confident communicator both verbal and written.
- Ability to lead a team in a fastpaced highpressure environment.
- Understanding food safety standards (e.g. HACCP BRCS GLOBALGAP).
- Willingness to work night shifts weekends and overtime as needed.
Experience with automated packing equipment or sorting systems. 3 - 5 years experience Functional / Technical Prior supervisory experience in a fresh produce environment, primarily sorting and grading raw materials (blueberry experience a plus). Strong computer proficiency (e.g., Excel, ERP systems, production software). Excellent planning and organisational skills. Clear, confident communicator both verbal and written.
