Job Description

Join our team at Wellesley Public Schools where we are dedicated to providing inclusive diversified and equitable learning experiences for all learners. We seek a dynamic motivated collaborative educator to join our Elementary World Languages Department as a Spanish teacher.

At Wellesley Public Schools Spanish classes are essential to our elementary core curriculum. Students receive Spanish instruction three times a week for thirty minutes ensuring consistent exposure and practice. Our program is committed to proficiencybased learning aligning with the ACTFL Proficiency Guidelines. This means we prioritize realworld language skills that empower students to communicate effectively in Spanish.

Job Qualifications:

We are seeking candidates who possess the following qualifications to excel as an elementary Spanish teacher:

  • Language Proficiency: Candidates must demonstrate at least an Advanced Oral Proficiency Level and exhibit native or nearnative fluency in Spanish. This ensures effective communication and engagement with students in the languagelearning process.
  • Teaching Experience: Qualified candidates will have substantial experience in providing contentenriched language instruction tailored explicitly for elementary school students (grades K5. This experience equips teachers with the pedagogical skills to engage young learners effectively.
  • Licensure: The ideal candidates will hold a Massachusetts elementary world language education license demonstrating a commitment to professional standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Pedagogical Skills: Competitive candidates will showcase a studentcentered teaching approach emphasizing active participation and meaningful learning experiences. Experience in curriculum development standardsbased assessment and collaboration with fellow educators and administrators is highly valued.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal abilities are essential for fostering positive relationships with students colleagues and parents. Effective communication empathy and cultural competence create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Organizational and Management Skills: The role requires effective organizational and management skills to efficiently handle classroom dynamics lesson planning and administrative tasks.
