Position Title: Division Chair

Job Summary: The Division Chair in collaboration with their Administrative and Nursing Dyad Partner(s) leads the strategic growth programmatic development fiscal responsibility and quality performance of the Division. The Division Chair inspires others to fulfill the mission and aspirational aims of Essentia Health.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategy and Programmatic Development
- Development of longrange strategic plan and recruitment plan for the Division.
- Identify opportunities for programmatic growth.
- Actively participate in Market Senior Leadership meetings and Essentia Health system initiatives.
- Facilitate Division participation in EH committees and workgroups.
- Responsible for bidirectional communication between Division and Essentia Health Leadership Team.
- Fiscal Responsibility
- Leads all Sections and their members to strive toward meeting or exceeding access productivity and financial targets.
- Identifies opportunities to decrease overall cost of care and achieve valuebased performance targets.
- Quality
- Lead and monitor the Divisions performance in meeting Clinical Quality and Patient Experience metrics.
- Participate in investigation and resolution of patient quality/safety/service reported events as delegated. Participate in Professional Practice Evaluation activities as needed or as appropriate to Division Chair role.
- Collaborate with Physician and Professional Services regarding performance concerns.
- Leader Development
- Mentor and support Section Chair(s).
- Conduct onboarding feedback and development conversations.
- Participate in Succession Planning
- Support retention efforts including monitoring employee engagement data
Required Qualifications:
- Active member of the medical staff prior to start.
- Demonstrated experience and effectiveness in leadership role(s).
- Serves as an exemplary role model and servant leader.
- Demonstrated system thinker and ability to navigate in a matrix organization.

Education
- Physician: MD DO MBBS or DPM
Licensure/Certification
- Physician: Current licensure in applicable state(s) and board certification in applicable clinical specialty prior to start.
