Amazons Legal Department is looking for an attorney with a strong transactional and regulatory background to support Amazon Web Services (AWS) dynamic and rapidly growing global transportation logistics and supply chain operations businesses.
You will be responsible for structuring drafting and negotiating commercial agreements and for independently and effectively solving a broad range of commercial and regulatory issues to support AWSs supply chain. You will work directly with the business serving as lead counsel on strategic supply chain operations projects providing daytoday legal advice resolving issues that arise in existing commercial relationships addressing regulatory questions and handling prelitigation disputes and inquiries. You will develop strategies for handling legal issues in creative businesscentric ways and you will build processes that address risk and allow the business flexibility and freedom to move quickly.
Key job responsibilities
Drafting and negotiating complex bespoke and highvalue contracts;
Providing daytoday legal advice on a variety of transportation logistics and supply chain operations issues;
Owning and implementing strategic initiatives and projects while working crossfunctionally with other legal teams;
Developing and improving legal review and engagement processes; and
Resolving prelitigation disputes and compliance challenges affecting supply chain operations.
2 years of legal experience
Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent
Experience in private practice or in house experience at a technology company or equivalent
Experience managing multiple projects and meeting aggressive deadlines
Experience in web services/cloud computing software licensing telecommunications or equivalent
Knowledge of transportation warehousing reverse logistics and other supply chain operations legal issues
Common sense great judgment and a good sense of humor
Excellent interpersonal skills a desire to be challenged and the ability to be a partner to business stakeholders
