Title: Finance Coordinator Job Description
Job Description
Heartbeet Lifesharing is looking for a Finance Coordinator to support the Finance Manager in effective financial management. The role involves working closely with an outside accountant; ensuring appropriate financial records are accurately maintained; and supporting team members in financial administration. Previous accounting/financial experience is a plus with nonprofit experience preferred. This role requires familiarity with audits accounts payable and receivable and budgets; an ability to prioritize multiple projects; adherence to timelines and confidentiality requirements; and a commitment to operating in a team environment.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Class and process incoming vendor invoices for accountant
- Process staff reimbursements and mileage reimbursements
- Prepare and make weekly bank deposits
- Prepare documentation for incoming ACH payments for accountant
- Collect enter and class credit card receipts in QuickBooks
- Send monthly invoices and maintain residents attendance sheets
- Manage the donor database eTapestry in collaboration with development activities
- Assist with payroll and send biweekly timesheet reminders collect timesheets and communicate with hourly employees as needed
- Maintain a Finance Office filing system and binders
- Collect and distribute incoming mail
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
The ideal candidate will have experience in nonprofit financials along with:
- Bachelors degree or equivalent
- Experience with (QBO) QuickBooks Online and eTapestry with bookkeeping standards including accounts receivable/payable and fund accounting
- Knowledge of nonprofit audits and tax filings
- Ability to create update and maintain financial reports in Excel
- Creative problemsolving skills
- Energetic flexible collaborative and proactive
- Strong written interpersonal and presentation skills and the ability to effectively communicate complex information
- Commitment to the human rights of people with disabilities and the organizational mission
- Demonstrated ability to work well with diverse populations
Qualifications
- Valid U.S. Drivers License
- I9 Employment Eligibility Verification
- Must pass required Background Checks for position
Reports To: Finance Manager
Accountable To: Finance Manager & Executive Director
Hours / Job Type
PartTime: 1015 Hours/Week
Job Location: In Office (possibility for some remote work)
Compensation: $24.50/hr
