AWP is a oneofakind local program dedicated to bringing yoga and mindfulness fitness and personal training outdoor services nutrition services physical therapy peer support art therapy and music therapy to the Milwaukee community with a particular focus on serving individuals in mental health recovery and people with disabilities.

About the role:
The Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) is a hybrid role working both as a PTA and Fitness Provider. The PTA supports clients in physical and mental health recovery working 1:1 with individuals to provide rehabilitation and personal training that is fully customized to the clients needs following Ascent Wellness Program principles to provide accessible and inclusive wellness services. Interventions may include: manual therapy basic fitness education exploration of natural & painfree movement exercises for overall physical mobility and joint health movement for selfregulation workout & home practice planning stretching/selfmassage muscular endurance and strengthtraining cardiovascular activity outdoor activity and tours of local fitness spaces (e.g. recreation centers gyms dance studios etc.. Services are delivered onsite inhome or in community locations outdoors and/or via telehealth according to client needs. Travel is required.
Job Qualifications:
- REQUIRED: A relevant Bachelors or Masters degree in exercise science kinesiology or other areas related to the profession.
- REQUIRED: Currently licensed as a Physical Therapy Assistant in Wisconsin
- REQUIRED: A valid WI drivers license and access to a personal vehicle for travel to inhome appointments and occasional client transportation to/from sessions within Milwaukee County.
- Excellent professional communication and customer service skills is required.
- Ability to work independently with excellent organization and time management skills is required.
- Professional work experience in an outpatient orthopedic setting is preferred.
- Professional work experience related to mental health and healthcare is a plus.
- Ability to speak multiple languages is a plus.

Hours and pay:
This is a fulltime position requiring a minimum of 32 hours per week. Typical working hours are 8am to 5pm Monday through Friday.The base salary begins at $57000 per year with the potential to earn up to $65000 in the first year with additional commission and bonus opportunities.
