Job Description
This position is forschool year.
Responsible for assisting teachers and schools with providing assistance in classroom instruction student behavioral support and providing for the health care needs of students during the school day in accordance with state laws and district regulations.
The position is 6.5hours per dayand183 days per year.
170 student instructional days 4 paid holidays 7planningdays 2 extended days
Contracted days will be adjusted depending upon start date.

- Must have 48 semester hours an Associates Degree or have a high school diploma or equivalent and have passed the paraeducator exam and provide a copy to HR upon recommendation to hire.
New employees to the district may bring in up to 10 years of comparable fulltime verified experience.(NOTE: It will be the responsibility of the applicant hired to submit the BCPS verification of experience form to their prior employer to complete and return to HR.
Salary will be based on thesalary schedule once the Board approves.
Payscale
Step 0: $15.59 per hour
Step 10: $19.19 per hour
Although Classified positions are paid on an hourly rate salary is set up on a yearlong contract and divided by the number of remaining paychecks. This position is considered atenmonthemployee on the pay schedule. 4 paychecks will be paid at the end of June.
