Job Description
Summary
The History Program at Saint Xavier University invites applications for a fulltime tenuretrack open rank professor position in History. History offers a wide variety of courses to support the History Secondary Education and History Middle Level Education majors the history minor various other interdisciplinary minors and the General Education history and social sciences requirement. The area of expertise is open but we are also interested in candidates with additional expertise in Latin American African American Middle Eastern and/or Womens history.
Rank depends on credentials and years of experience; salary commensurate with experienceEssential Duties & Responsibilities
- Teach 12 credit hours each semester in history courses related to ones area of expertise
- Establish a program of research leading to peerreviewed publications and presentations
- Provide service to the program college and university
Qualifications
- Doctorate (Ph.D. in History or a closely related discipline (ABD applicants will be considered contingent on a successful doctoral defense prior to August 1 2025
- Evidence of or potential for excellent teaching including use of evidencebased best practices in teaching and learning
- Demonstrated research potential
- Enthusiasm toward serving a diverse student population
- Support for the Saint Xavier University Mission to work in the United States
