The Employment Skills Instructor is responsible for working with young adults ages 1624 to develop work readiness skills and life skills to ensure training and employment success. the instructor will provide assessment training handson activities and engaging content for young adult learners with barriers to employment.
Responsibilities & Essential functions:
Youth Engagement and Instructional Facilitation
- Work with young adults to provide work readiness skills in group settings and oneonone.
- Teach work readiness and retention skills in an engaging manner for young adults with a variety of different backgrounds and experiences.
- Show flexibility and compassion in dealing with individuals from disadvantaged social economic and educational backgrounds.
- Assist young adults in career exploration through virtual reality field trips virtual visits to employers and other methods to share information and experiences.
Assessment and Individualized Support
- Assess individuals in young adult programs for strengths and challenges and provide skills development that aligns with assessed deficiencies.
- Meet measurable outcomes and metrics as established by goodwill and program funders.
- Document and report interactions training and other identified data to the data system and program manager as required.
Career Readiness and Workforce Development
- Maintain knowledge of current employment trends needs and opportunities as well as program requirements standards and guidelines.
- Stay current with community employment training needs and related skills required for employment.
- Work with employers to understand the needs of their workforce and integrate skills development into workshops and training.
- Cultivate relationships that assist young adults and staff in workplace retention.
Communication and Relationship Management
- Communicate effectively with employers partners and team members to ensure participant needs are met effectively.
- Participate in planning/evaluation sessions with other program staff.
Continuous Learning and Professional Development
- Attend and participate in training events and workshops as they relate to job duties.
Qualifications & Basic Job Requirements:
- A combination of education and relevant work experience that aligns with the duties of this position.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to coach train teach and engage young adults.
- High customer service focus.
- Functional use of Microsoft applications such as Word Excel Powerpoint and Outlook.
- Requires occasional local travel within goodwills territory on a regular schedule. drivers license and proof of auto insurance preferred.
Compensation: $22.0026.00/hour
