The Field Service Technician Intern is primarily responsible for assisting with scheduled and remedial (breakfix) service on Small to Medium UPS Power Distribution Units & Battery system products 2120KVA) serviced by Vertiv commensurate with appropriate classroom and onthejob training. The Field Service Technician Intern will shadow team members to gain handson experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

ROLE

  • Assist with service tasks as assigned and as per company policies and procedures
  • Capable of working under direct supervision upon training completion
  • Communicate with customers onsite giving basic updates on progress

SAFETY

  • Operate in a safe manner in accordance with published safety guidelines
  • Must wear appropriate PPE as per company guidelines and accordance with job duties
  • Report all work related accidents or injuries within 24 hours to the appropriate personnel.

ADMINISTRATION

  • Complete accurate and timely administrative tasks and support service report generation per company guidelines
  • Maintain company property (PPE test equipment laptop etc. per company policies

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience

  • Currently enrolled in a related degree program
  • High School or Vocational School Diploma
  • Interpersonal and Administrative Skills
  • Communicate professionally and respectfully in both written and verbal forms
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel Word PowerPoint)

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Travel to customer sites as required
  • Flexible schedules (weekends and evenings)
  • Valid drivers license
  • Due to the safety sensitive aspect of the role candidates are required to successfully pass a drug test prior to employment. In addition you will also be required to complete and pass a preemployment background check and a motor vehicle records check.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

While performing duties of the above jobs the associate is regularly required to stand walk use hands and fingers handle or feel objects tools or other components; reach with hands and arms; stoop kneel crouch or crawl; talk hear and associate frequently is required to sit and climb or balance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distant vision color vision peripheral vision depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Must be able to consistently lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 75 pounds.

The anticipated salary range for this role in the MA locality is between$46860$58633per yearsalary ranges for other geographic localities may roles are eligible for additional rewards including merit increases annual bonus and stock. These awards are allocated based on individual performance and are role based. In addition certain roles also have the opportunity to earn sales incentives based on revenue or utilization depending on the terms of the plan and the employees role. The role is eligible to participate in a comprehensive and competitive benefits program including medical dental vision disability PTO holiday pay and 401k.
