Job Description

Business Insider is hiring a motion design fellow to join our news team and work on stories and animations for Risky Business and other shows across the team.

The Business Insider Fellowship Program is for early career journalists who want to spend six months learning from a newsroom full of passionate dedicated journalists. Fellows are assigned to teams and become experts in digital storytelling. They produce real work that is distributed to our audience of millions and by the end of six months they are prepared for the next phase of their journalism careers. This paid role requires you to work for 40 hours a week. Fellowships can be hybrid and we expect New Yorkbased fellows to come into our offices at least twice per week.

The Role & Team:

The fellow in this role will spend their time creating original and creative animations for various series including Risky Business and Big Business. Here are some recent examples:

The ideal candidate should have knowledge of After Effects and a passion for animation. They will work closely with videographers and producers to create videos for a wide audience across the web and various social media platforms including YouTube Facebook Twitter Snapchat and Reels.

This role reports directly to the Senior Motion Designer and sits on the larger video team.
