OneYear Visiting Assistant Professor of Early Modern Art History
The Department of Art History at Pomona College invites applications for a oneyear fulltime Visiting Assistant Professor in Early Modern Art History (c.15th18th century) beginning Fall 2025. The successful candidate will join a dynamic academic community in which small class sizes and direct mentorship of students are encouraged.
Applicants with expertise in European Islamic or South Asian art history are welcome to apply. The position has a teaching load of five courses over two semesters. Ph.D. in Art History preferred ABD applicants with prior teaching experience will be considered. For more information about the Department please visit our Art History Website.
The Art History Department at Pomona College participates in the Joint Program in Art History that includes Scripps and Pitzer Colleges. The Art History Department also enjoys a collaborative relationship with the Benton Museum of Art at Pomona College the Williamson Art Gallery at Scripps College and the Pitzer College Art Galleries.
