This position requires office presence of a minimum of 5 days per week and is only located in the location(s) posted. No relocation is offered.

Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced data privacy attorney with 7 years of legal experience who will advise AT&Ts Chief Privacy Office and strategic business partners regarding the lawful processing of data across the Company.

Position Responsibilities:

Serve as an expert on a wide range of data privacy matters including:

  • Serving as a subject matter expert on CCPA & state privacy laws GDPR & international privacy laws and other sectorspecific privacy laws like COPPA BIPA & CISA;
  • Conducting privacy impact assessments;
  • Drafting meaningful Privacy notices and consent disclosures;
  • Negotiating data protection agreements; and
  • Supporting responses to regulatory inquiries.

Act as a trusted advisor to internal clients who seek strategic input for unique solutions to process data in a lawful manner and to meet our customers expectations regarding transparency choice & control security and integrity.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in data privacy law. Previous inhouse counsel experience is a significant plus.
  • CIPP or other similar certification is preferred.
  • Experience advising on data processing issues with outstanding communication skills strong analytic abilities and practical solutions.
  • A track record of proactively handling complex and varied legal matters in a fastpaced environment with a demonstrated ability to prioritize and deliver quality workproduct.
  • The ability to work collaboratively with all internal stakeholders and legal department colleagues.
  • Working knowledge of state federal and international privacy laws with a passion for continuous learning to spot evolving trends and proactively address potential legal implications for the company.
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in good standing with the state bar.
  • High level of integrity professionalism and ethical standards.
