POSITION: Elementary School Social Worker
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Masters Degree in Social Work School Psychologist or other licensed Mental Health Provider
2. Experience working with elementary school students in emotional and behavioral health
3. Experience working in a therapeutic and/or school setting
4. Licensed by DESE as School Social Worker and/or State Licensing Agency as Licensed Social Worker
REPORTS TO: School Principal and Special Education Coordinator
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Individual and group therapy with identified students
2. Consultation with staff including coaching and professional development on social/emotional curricula
3. Parent trainings and outreach
4. Clinical crisis intervention including assessment and facilitation of hospitalizations when necessary
5. Case Management
6. Participation in student IEP/Team Meetings
7. Other duties as assigned by the School Principal and Special Education Coordinator
Additional Skills:
1. Experience with data collection and reporting
2. Ability to support improved academic achievement for targeted students
Full time 183day School Year Position
Salary and Benefits are consistent with theCollective Bargaining Agreement between the Arlington School Committee and the Arlington Education Association.
TheSalary Scheduleis on our website. Salary placement is based on Education and Experience.
Arlington has a wellestablished new teacher induction program with mentoring throughout the school year. The first official work day in theschool year will be August 27 2025. However new staff are required to attend several days of orientation and training during the last two weeks of August.
