Job Description

About the Role:

You will track statelevel legislative and regulatory proposals affecting the CPA profession. You will support the Associations advocacy efforts by conducting research coordinating internal and external responses and assisting in the management of legislative programs. You will provide administrative and operational support to the State Regulatory & Legislative Affairs team to grow the Associations strategic goals. You will work from our offices in Washington DC and report to the Director for State Regulation and Legislative Affairs.

You Will:

  • Track new and pending state legislative and regulatory proposals affecting the CPA profession.
  • Maintain internal tracking systems to facilitate information sharing
  • Collaborate with company partners including state legislative and technical teams to assess proposals and develop appropriate advocacy strategies.
  • Help draft legislative issue briefs regulatory comment letters and other advocacy materials.
  • Conduct policy research on state legislative and regulatory matters relevant to the CPA profession.
  • Support special projects led by the State Regulatory & Legislative Affairs team.
  • Provide administrative and operational support to the Associate Director State Legislation & Regulation Vice President State Regulatory & Legislative Affairs Assistant General Counsel and other team members.
  • Help schedule meetings and support in preparation of materials for advocacyrelated activities.

You Have:

  • Bachelors degree in political science public policy government affairs business administration communications or a related field
  • 3 years relevant experience legislative tracking government affairs regulatory research public policy or a related field.
  • Experience working with legislative or regulatory bodies professional associations advocacy organizations or public affairs teams
  • Familiarity with state legislative and regulatory processes including bill tracking and policy analysis

The Salary Range for this role is: $64000 $77000 per annum.
