Job Description
A defence company in Pretoria is seeking a mechanical design engineer.
Duties & Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the design and development of mechanical components and systems for armored vehicles.
- Produce detailed 3D CAD models and 2D drawings in compliance with engineering standards.
- Work closely with senior engineers to support prototype builds and testing.
- Participate in design reviews DFMEA and engineering change processes.
- Ensure manufacturability and assembly efficiency through designformanufacture (DFM) principles.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including structural electrical and production departments.
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 02 years of relevant experience (internships or project experience in vehicle/mechanical design preferred).
- Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks CATIA or Creo.
- Basic knowledge of materials fabrication processes and mechanical systems.
- Strong problemsolving and communication skills.
- Passion for defense technology engineering innovation and handson development.
- Familiarity with military standards or defense projects is a plus but not required.
