As an Associate Engineer (Asset Management) you serve as an Asset Planning Lead for civil infrastructure (including aqueducts canals tunnels pipelines roads and buildings) in the Operations Projects & Asset Management (OPAM) Unit.
You will leverage your skills as a technical specialist to conduct asset management planning in alignment with Metropolitans Strategic Asset Management Plan ISO 55000 and the International Infrastructure Management Manual. You will also support and manage condition assessments; data collection and management; risk management processes; and lifecycle cost forecasts for longterm planning for Metropolitans civil assets.
Additionally you will support Metropolitans operations to mitigate impacts resulting from leases easements licenses and developments and encroachments.
Schedule: 44/36 Monday through Friday/Every other Friday off. Monday through Thursday 9 hours per day 8 hours per day every other Friday. Start times are no earlier than 6 am and end times are no later than 6 pm.
Hybrid: Metropolitans current practice in this position is a hybrid work schedule. This typically includes two days a week in person and the other days remote. This is subject to change dependent on organizational needs. In addition a telework policy is scheduled for negotiations and once completed and implemented will provide final direction on the hybrid schedule.
Travel: This position will require travel to various District facilities throughout the service area sometimes requiring overnight stay in the project area.

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience: Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in a related field AND four years of relevant experience of which two years must have been at the Assistant Engineer II level; OR a Masters degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and two years of relevant experience which must have been at the Assistant Engineer II level.
A degree (Bachelors or Masters) in a related field is defined as: an Engineering degree
Relevant Experience is defined as: design/construction management of major capital projects AND/OR engineering project management AND/OR infrastructure asset management AND/OR utility management AND/OR maintenance engineering AND/OR reliability engineering.
CERTIFICATIONS LICENSES AND REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS
Employees in this position may be required to obtain and maintain the following certifications licensing and registrations:
Certificates:Engineer in Training (EIT)
License(s):Valid California Class C Drivers License or equivalent (required at time of application) that allows you to drive during your employment.
