JOB SUMMARY The Pressroom Supervisor is responsible for the overall performance of the pressroom operations overseeing the activities of the staff support personnel and hourly union workers while insuring that the products meet all quality standards cost targets and customer required lead times. This individual is responsible for initiating and/or implementing programs involving new product introductions quality improvements cost reductions and operational changes. Position is ManageronDuty for the plant on offshifts. ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - Plans and implements production sequences to meet production goals. Schedule and assign the work of the departments to meet published schedule and maintain work efficiency at the highest possible level at the lowest possible cost.
- Continuously monitor the quality of the work and production efficiency in the department and take necessary corrective action to remedy deficiencies. Motivate production staff to achieve continuously increasing productivity. Appraise performance of all department personnel on a continuous basis.
- Develops and implements standard operating procedures to promote efficiency and quality production. Creates and maintains work instructions and proper documentation on the floor.
- Investigate and identify production issues determine and remedy causes to failure to meet quality and quality standards advise and assist the appropriate manufacturing support departments with the implementation of corrective action
- Coordinates preventative machine maintenance to minimize production down time.
- Supervises and trains employees on safety quality and productivity.
- Ensures Compliance with established plant policies and procedures.
- Implement safety programs and policies and conduct safety training. Investigate all injuries and near misses and impalement corrective actions
- Communicates with other department managers and supervisors regarding production schedules and requirements to ensure product quality and resource efficiency.
- May mentor or coach staff or lower level supervisors.
- Continuously seek cost reductions and recommend improvements to procedures process equipment and layout.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS 5 years relevant supervisory experience in a commercial print manufacturing environment preferred. (web/sheetfed/digital and bindery) Associate or bachelors degree strongly preferred. May include specialized classes in a nondegree program.
Preferred Skills - Proficiency with Microsoft Suite (Excel Word) and basic computer program
- Must understand LEAN concepts; Experience with LEAN or Six Sigma preferred.
- Experience at working both independently and in a teamoriented collaborative environment is essential.
- Adept at conducting research into productionrelated issues and products.
- Must be able to learn understand and apply new technologies.
