Job Description
The Employment Specialist will work with both employers and participants to connect youth ages 1824 with justice involvement to opportunities in the workforce. The Employment Specialist will develop workbased learning and training opportunities for participants and employers and ensure employers needs are met.
Responsibilities & Essential Functions:
Employer Engagement and Job Development
- Establish relationships and maintain close contact with area employers for job development and placement opportunities.
- Create and monitor contracts for workbased learning with area employers.
- Stay current with community employment needs trends and related skills required for employment.
Participant Support and Case Management
- Assist participants in finding and maintaining employment in relevant industries.
- Counsel and provide ongoing case management to program participants who are enrolled in workbased learning programs.
- Make appropriate resource referrals provide followup services and track outcomes.
Compliance and Program Administration
- Become familiar with policies procedures and guidelines to ensure compliance.
- Maintain confidentiality and protect customers personal Identifying Information (PII) as required by law.
- Maintain participant files in compliance with program requirements and guidelines.
Cultural Competency
- Show flexibility in working with youth with barriers.
- Show flexibility and tolerance in working with individuals from diverse social economic and educational backgrounds.
Qualifications & Basic Job Requirements:
- A combination of education and relevant work experience that aligns with the duties of this position.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and high attention to detail.
- High customer service focus.
- Requires occasional local travelwithin Goodwills territory on a regular schedule. Drivers license and proof of auto insurance required.
Compensation: $22.00 $27.50/hour
