Amazon Web Services (AWS) is a highly reliable scalable lowcost infrastructure platform in the cloud that powers hundreds of thousands of enterprise government and startup business and organizations in over 190 countries around the world. Launched in 2006 Amazon Web Services officially began offering developer customers access to web services now widely known as cloud computing based on Amazons own backend technology platform.
AWS Finance seeks a world class Sr. Financial Analyst to be a key leader supporting the AWS Compute business. Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud is a web service that provides resizable compute capacity in the cloud. Amazon EC2 has grown to be one of the fastest growing and most strategic suite of products in the AWS portfolio.
This position will work closely with finance management as well as key business partners across the AWS organization including service general managers product managers engineering leaders sales and business development leadership to drive thoughtful analysis and controllership to EC2 Services.
The position will own P&Ls and perform usage and revenue analyses for new and existing services deliver adhoc business projects and analyses conduct usage and revenue planning and provide financial insights.
This role requires solid skills in thought leadership a selfstarter with a strong financial modeling background problem solving skills a keen attention to detail and ability to work in a fastpaced environment with ambiguous situations. This role requires strong communication skills and has regular interaction with various AWS business units and senior leadership.
Key job responsibilities
This role is critical in not only addressing financial deliverables (Weekly Business Review Monthly Financial Reviews Operating Plans pricing/discounts etc. but also driving the business to find efficiencies to grow profit. The successful candidate will be able to communicate effectively and manage multiple time sensitive deliverables across a matrixed organization. The individual will also possess strong business partnership skills and collaborate effectively with key stakeholders.
3 years of tax finance or a related analytical field experience
Bachelors degree in finance accounting business economics or a related analytical field (e.g. engineering math computer science)
3 years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience
Experience working with largescale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL MS Access Essbase Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle SAP Lawson JD Edwards)
3 years of identifying leading and executing opportunities to improve automate standardize or simplify finance or business tools and processes experience
MBA or CPA
Experience with advanced use of SQL for data mining and business intelligence

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $60200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $128800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on jobrelated knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
