Located in London and Kitchener SBM serves a diverse range of private and public sector clients across Southwestern Ontario. Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and review detailed Civil3D models for land development municipal infrastructure and transportation projects.
  • Create and oversee erosion and sediment control plans grading servicing stormwater management and site plan drawings.
  • Prepare plan profile section and earthworks drawings ensuring accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
  • Lead the coordination of designs and drawings with internal team members and external consultants.
  • Represent the company in client and stakeholder meetings fostering strong relationships and identifying business development opportunities.
  • Ensure projects meet approval authority guidelines bylaws and codes.
  • Mentor and train junior technologists and EITs on best practices in civil design and drafting.
  • Proactively improve design and modeling techniques to enhance team efficiency.
  • Conduct occasional site visits to collect field data review contractor progress and document findings in standardized reports.
  • Support construction reviews to ensure compliance with design specifications.
  • Prepare engineering reports and support technical documentation.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of company processes and standards.
  • Other duties as assigned by Civil Division Manager/Team Lead.
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Graduate of a Civil Engineering Technology Diploma or equivalent.
  • Eligible for or holding a C.Tech. C.E.T. designation through OACETT or L.E.T. designation PEO are preferred.
  • 12 years of experience in land development municipal infrastructure and/or transportation engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of approval processes regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Proficiency in AutoDesk Civil3D and MS Office Suite (Word Outlook Excel).
  • Ability to coach and mentor junior technicians/technologists.
  • Exceptional drafting skills with a focus on detail and accuracy.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • High level of organization and time management.
  • Commitment to professional development and a collaborative team environment.
  • Selfmotivated with the ability to work independently and take initiative.
