Job Description

St. Mary Catholic School in Royal Oakis searching fora knowledgeable enthusiastic nurturing and faithfilled teacher for a third grade selfcontained classroom position. We are a growing vibrant Christfocused preschool through 8^thgrade school community located in downtown Royal Oak. This position is for one of two third grade classrooms at St. Mary Catholic School.

Position begins August 2025. Interviews planned beginning April 28^th.

Must be a Catholic in good standing willing and able to share our Catholic faith with creativity and joy in an ageappropriate manner.

Please send a cover letter resume AND copy of your valid Michigan teaching certificate to Principal Gabriela Bala. You may also upload one file consisting of the 3 listed documents through the Paycor Recruiting online system.

Qualifications/Requirements:

Valid Michigan teaching certificate
Bachelors degree (minimum) including all courses and state tests needed to meet credential requirements
Catechist formation required for all teachers.
Catechist certification required for all teachers of religion (may be completed within 1 year of hire)
Required prior to working with students: fingerprinting background check and completion of Protecting Gods Children training.

Be a positive role model for students
Be an example of living faith
Show professionalism and strong ethical behavior
Be creative and flexible in teaching
Have good written and verbal communication skills
Work well independently and with a team
Love our students!

All teachers in the Archdiocese of Detroit Catholic Schools shall be certified and/or approved for teaching by the Michigan Department of Education. All teachers are required to hold the appropriate endorsement(s) for the subject(s) they are assigned to teach. All teachers who are catechists (teachers of religion) must be certified by the Archdiocese of Detroit.
