From starting drawings at the conceptual stage to contributing to fieldwork surveying and contract administration youll gain exposure to every phase of project development. Your Role
As a Civil Engineering Technologist/Technician you will:
- Use AutoCAD Civil 3D to design and produce functional preliminary and detailed drawings for municipal drainage infrastructure road construction and land development projects.
- Create detailed engineering drawings including plan profile and section views.
- Prepare cost estimates quantities and tender packages.
- Assist with contract administration tasks including site visits deficiency reviews and report preparation.
- Conduct fieldwork including surveying layout inspection and construction reviews.
- Operate surveying equipment such as Total Stations and GPS data systems downloading and managing electronic files.
- Maintain organized notekeeping and file management for project documentation.
- Collaborate with a team of engineers technologists and other technical professionals to deliver highquality results.
What Were Looking For
To succeed in this role you should have:
- A diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or Technician program and eligibility for CET designation.
- Proficiency in design software particularly AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Excellent interpersonal organizational and analytical skills.
- Strong oral and written communication abilities.
- The ability to multitask and manage multiple projects effectively.
- A valid Ontario drivers license and access to a vehicle.
- Experience in a consulting environment (considered an asset).
- A background in farming and agriculture (considered an asset).
- Desire to live and work in rural communities.
