Job Description
Peninsula Community Center a ministry of Peninsula Covenant Church (PCC) builds community by providing personal healthy and meaningful connection through aquatics fitness tennis and community programming. PCC is a vibrant and forwardthinking church located in Redwood City dedicated to serving our community and making a positive impact through our outreach programs including our Community Center. PRINCIPAL OBJECTIVE
The Youth Swim Coach leads and develops youth swimmers by providing highquality instruction promoting physical fitness teamwork and sportsmanship and fostering a love of swimming in a safe and supportive environment.
PRINCIPAL WORKING RELATIONSHIP
This position reports to the Youth Aquatics Supervisor and works closely with the Aquatics Coordinator Aquatics Program Manager and other aquatics staff. The Youth Swim Coach will also engage with swimmers parents and Peninsula Covenant Church (PCC) members ensuring a positive and encouraging team environment. Collaboration with all Center staff is essential to maintaining a highquality aquatics program and facility.

WORKWEEK
- Commit to working 5 out of the 6 weeks of summer swim team and attend all required training meetings throughout the summer including weekly inservice training.
- Work one summer holiday (Memorial Day July 4th or Labor Day) and one of the following event dates: June 21st or July 26th.
- Attend the WBSL Championship Meet on July 19th and the team banquet on July 20th.
- Participate in mandatory meetings on June 8th June 30th and August 3rd.
- Hours and shifts vary Weekly hours range: 614 hours.
SUMMARY OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and implement daily swim sets for assigned groups and assist with swim meet preparation and .
- Know the facility Emergency Action Plan (EAP) and be prepared to assist in any emergency.
- Be available to work as scheduled and take full responsibility for finding a substitute if needed.
- Be willing and available to substitute for others.
- Escalate concerns to the Youth Aquatics Supervisor Aquatics Coordinator or Aquatics Program Manager as needed.
- Collaborate with all aquatics and Center staff to provide excellent service to members and guests and contribute to a thriving aquatics program.
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION
- American Red Cross Lifeguard certification required.
- Must be at least 15 years old with strong swimming skills.
- Prior swim team coaching and swim instructor experience preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be in the water and sun for extended periods.
- Must be able to hold children (ages 312 in the water stand in the water swim 300 yards continuously (breaststroke or freestyle) and tread water for two minutes without using arms.
- Must be able to perform all American Red Cross Lifeguard rescue skills including but not limited to diving up to 12 feet treading water for extended periods CPR rescue breathing inwater spinal backboarding and using an AED.
- Must be able to lift 30 pounds occasionally and 1520 pounds frequently.
- DOJ background clearance required.
- Must adhere to and model PCCs Safe Church policies.

Compensation: $20.50 $22.40 per hour
