At Mission Hill Family Estate our culinary program is dedicated to the sourcing and promotion of local sustainable seasonal food. Our Cuisine du Terroir approach lends itself to a lighthanded manner of preparation that respects the character of the ingredient and where it is sourced. Our varietal and herb gardens are steps away from our kitchens and we educate and encourage our team members to explore foraging opportunities that lay at our doorstep.

What Were Looking For:

  • Excellent technical knowledge of contemporary cooking styles
  • The ability to cost menu items and conduct monthly inventory
  • A proven understanding of and a sincere interest in developing food and wine pairing knowledge
  • Food Safe certification (or equivalent) required

Bonus Points:

  • Second language considered an asset

  • Thetypical hiring range for this position is $49000$50000/year. Pay is determined by jobrelated knowledge skills experience and education.

The Life of a Sous Chef:

  • Responsible for the daily of the Terrace menus as well as the leadership of Terrace kitchen brigade
  • Maintain accountability for self and culinary brigade
  • Abide by and enforce all company policies
  • Abide by and enforce all routines that contribute to our high standards of quality and excellence
  • Order and receive ingredients as defined by the Terrace Chef
  • Ensure all food products are put away and stored properly at the end of service including proper labeling rotating and storage of all food ingredients in the coolers freezers and dry storage
  • Create daily specials and assist in menu writing syllabus writing and costing of each menu
