Job Description
The Boat Livery Attendants responsibilities include the daily operations of our Wellington Reservation boat livery. The livery operations include checkins and checkouts assisting patrons in and out of our kayaks cleaning and sanitizing our kayaks and carrying our kayaks which weigh up to 50 pounds. The aide will also assist in boating programs (kayaking canoeing standup paddleboarding) throughout the county as needed.
By the end of the season the staff person in this position will gain a tremendous amount of experience working with boating participants of all ages backgrounds and skill levels. There is also the opportunity to gain experience working with several types of boats and boating equipment.
Pay Rate: $10.70 per hour
Hours: Up to 39 per week
- Boating and trailering experience preferred.
- CPR/First Aid required.
- Applicants are required to possess the Ohio Boating Education Course certification or be available to complete the course before the beginning of the season.
- Operation of a small powerboat will be required.
- Weekend and some evening hours will be required.
- Applicants must be able to lift 50 pounds.
- Work outdoors during various weather conditions (heat rain etc).
- Other duties as apparent or assigned.
Must possess a valid Ohio drivers license. New employees must satisfactorily complete a background check. Lorain County Metropolitan Park District policy prohibits hiring new employees who are tobacco users.
