Our commitment is unwavering and our XpresTest team plays a pivotal role by partnering with the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
Our collaborative efforts extend beyond COVID19 variant detection encompassing the comprehensive detection and sequencing of 30 different pathogens that could potentially be introduced into the U.S. by international travelers. As a Wastewater Biosecurity Specialist (BSS) you will play a critical role in the successful implementation of this groundbreaking program ensuring the collection of wastewater samples from aircraft. Your efforts will be pivotal in enabling earlier detection of infections and enhancing global health safety by tracking pathogen movement through wastewater.
Responsibilities:
Collecting Samples:
Communicate effectively and directly with operational stakeholders airport personnel airline personnel in a professional and approachable manner that reflects XWells core mission and agenda.
Work closely with airline and airport staff to effectively collect wastewater samples from aircraft following established biosecurity protocols to ensure accurate pathogen detection.
Maintain meticulous records of all sample collections including flight details and sampling times ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and operational procedures.
Collaboration:
Work alongside a dedicated team of biosecurity professionals and collaborate with airport staff to maintain a safe and organized workflow.
Participate in meetings and training to stay updated on the latest CDC guidelines biosecurity best practices and advancements in pathogen detection technologies.
Assist in maintaining strong relationships with the CDC and other global health agencies to ensure the success of pathogen surveillance efforts.
Compliance:
Follow all relevant regulations and policies concerning airport operations pathogen detection and sample handling.
Maintain strict hygiene practices to ensure the safe collection handling and storage of wastewater samples. Clean and sanitize equipment and workspaces regularly.
Respect and maintain confidentiality in all interactions and data collection.
Operational Maintenance:
Monitor the condition of sampling equipment and report any issues to relevant personnel for timely resolution.
Assist in resolving any operational challenges that may arise during sample collection.
Required Qualifications:
Willingness to work flexible hours including nights weekends and holidays to accommodate flight schedules
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
Proficient in using computer systems.
Ability to remain calm and composed in demanding environments.
Ability to lift/push/pull up to 30 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior work experience in an airport environment
Experience in biosecurity or health monitoring
Bilingual English/Spanish
