Position Summary
Sinai Akiba Academy is seeking qualified K8 substitute teachers for theacademic year. A substitute teacher supervises and teaches students in the event that their regular teacher is unable to lead class. This position requires availability to accept assignments when scheduled in advance or occasionally at the last minute. The ideal candidate is responsive and will demonstrate: responsibility safe management of students emotional intelligence a growth mindset selfmotivation positive energy strong interpersonal skills a serviceoriented and team approach to work approachability flexibility and clear communication skills.
Candidates must possess a bachelors degree in a related field and should have previous teaching experience.
Some of the substitute teachers duties and responsibilities will include:
- Following lesson plans provided by the regular teacher to create a cohesive and consistent learning experience for students
- Managing the classroom effectively to encourage student participation minimize disruptions and maintain a positive learning environment
- Supervising students in and out of the classroom including in the halls at recess/lunch and during dismissal
- Providing a written report of the day to the regular teacher
Hourly Rate Range: $25.00 $35.00
