The Department of Economics at Pomona College invite applications for a oneyear Visiting Assistant Professor of Economics. Qualified candidates should have a Ph.D. in Economics Public Policy or a related field (or be near completion). The successful candidate will offer five courses a year which includes multiple sections of one class (so no more than three preps). The candidates course assignments will be determined together with the Departments chair but will include microeconomics theory or our introductory microeconomics course.
Founded in 1887 Pomona College is the founding member of the Claremont Colleges a unique constellation of five small undergraduate colleges and two graduate institutions located in southern California near the foothills of the San Gabriel mountains about 35 miles east of Los Angeles. Pomona Colleges student body consists of approximately 1700 students over 55 of whom identify as a person of color. The College is committed to a needblind noloan admissions policy and values equal access to higher education. Students of the Claremont Colleges can crossregister for courses at any of the colleges and faculty and staff across the colleges often collaborate. Currently the Department of Economics consists of 13 tenured or tenured track faculty members and there are more than 50 economists at the Claremont Colleges.

Employment is contingent upon providing proof of the legal right to work in the United States as required by the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986 for the duration of the contract July 1 2025 until June 30 2026.

The salary range for this position is $78000$85000 and is commensurate with experience and degree status.
