ABOUT GROVES SUMMER PROGRAMS During the summer we are pleased to offer students from the community a tailored highquality educational experience. Instruction at Groves is explicit structured and multimodal. Teachers combine their experience and expertise with care and understanding using a diagnosticprescriptive approach to continually assess and address individual student needs.
Our summer programs employ our proven philosophy of developing strengths and talents remediating academic weaknesses and tailoring instruction to meet individual needs. We offer programs for children entering grades 28 who have learning and/or attention disorders such as dyslexia and ADHD.
ABOUT GROVES SUMMER PROGRAM TEACHER POSITION The Summer Program Teacher plans and executes learning activities for a balanced program of instruction and demonstration. They provide an environment and culture in the classroom that engages students and helps them learn effectively. The small class size allows for individualized instruction and provides a collaborative atmosphere.
QUALIFICATIONS
- BA/BS in Special Education/Education required
- 2 years of classroom teaching experience
- Experience in The Writing Revolution is preferred
- Expertise in learning disabilities such as dyslexia and attention disorders in a classroom setting
- An intuitive teaching style with the ability to differentiate instruction to meet student needs
- Knowledge of executive functioning skills and how deficits in these skills affect academics
- Experience in positive reinforcement and positive behavior supports
- Experience with Middle School students
- The ideal candidate exhibits empathy patience and compassion in working with students who have difficulty with executive functioning
