Certification: DoD 8570 Compliance Security CE (Required)
Education: Bachelors degree in a technical discipline OR five 5 additional years of DBE experience in lieu of a degree
Years of Experience: 10 years of DBE experience in programs and contracts of similar scope type and complexity
Salary: $180000 $185000
Description
At Altus Technology Solutions we are looking for experienced Database Engineers to support missioncritical operations for government programs. Our team enhances national security initiatives optimizing data infrastructure to ensure peak performance and security.

In this role you will be a key technical expert driving database performance security and efficiency. From design and implementation to optimization and maintenance you will support full lifecycle database management across enterprise IT systems.
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide technical expertise in database design development implementation information storage and retrieval.
- Develop relational and/or objectoriented databases database parser software and database loading software.
- Support system improvements optimization and maintenance efforts.
- Develop database structures that align with system architecture while balancing data volume user load distribution response times security and domain controls.
- Translate project requirements into database schemas including the creation of ad hoc queries scripts macros and complex systems using Open Database Connectivity (ODBC) and cloud storage methodologies.
- Provide recommendations for system design and data organization throughout project lifecycle.
- Conduct analysis and evaluation to enhance database performance scalability and security.
Qualifications
- Active Security Clearance with appropriate Polygraph is required
- 10 years of experience as a Database Engineer (DBE) on projects of similar scope type and complexity.
- Bachelors degree in a technical field OR five 5 additional years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
- DoD 8570 Compliance Security CE
- Experience in database development parser software and database loading software.
- Knowledge of cloud storage methodologies and data manipulation techniques.
Specialized Experience
- Support database design development implementation information storage and retrieval data flow and analysis.
- Support analysis and evaluation of system improvements optimization and maintenance.
- Assist in developing shortterm and longterm database administration and design requirements.
- Assist in developing database parser and loading software.
- Translate requirements into usable database schemas including ad hoc queries scripts and macros.
- Develop database structures that integrate into larger system architectures.
- Lead efforts to create complex database systems using queries tables ODBC and cloudbased storage solutions.
- Provide direct support for database structure development balancing security scalability and user accessibility.
