Job Description
ACU is affiliated with the fellowship of the Church of Christ. All applicants must be professing Christians and willing to support the Christian mission and purpose of Abilene Christian University while employed by the university.
- Ensure appropriate service delivery for clients of ACU speech therapy programs via effective supervision of graduate student (MSSLP) clinicians
- Provide education and counseling for graduate student clinicians regarding service provision
- Ensure appropriate documentation of client services and student supervision activities
- Ensure appropriate service delivery for clients of ACU speech therapy programs via effective supervision of graduate student (MSSLP) clinicians
- Provide onsite supervision of graduate student clinical practicum at the oncampus clinic or at departmentmanaged clinical sites as assigned by the Director of Clinical Education.
- Provide education and counseling for graduate student clinicians regarding service provision
- Meet with students regarding case management
- Provide student guidance regarding professional responsibilities and conduct
- Ensure appropriate documentation of client services and student supervision activities
- Oversee documentation of service provision (evaluation reports progress notes etc)
- Complete documentation regarding graduate student performance
- Complete documentation of supervisory activities: timesheets clinical hours verifications etc.
- Skills
- General knowledge and skills required for professional practice in speech language pathology
- ASHArequired background/training in supervision of student clinicians
- Training Modules Required
- Minimum 2hours supervision training per ASHA requirements
- Training in ClinicNote EMR software
- Training in other clinical management software as needed
- Professional
- Masters degree in Speechlanguage pathology
- ASHA certification and Texas license in speechlanguage pathology
- Documentation of supervision training per ASHA 2020 requirements
- Minimum of 9months postcertification professional practice completed
- Personal
- Experience in supervision of graduate student clinicians
- Supports the mission of the university and department
- Must be able to transport self to clinical practicum sites
- Must have sensory abilities necessary to observe and evaluate student therapy sessions
