Basic Function

The Digital Technology Business Interface Leader is the trusted advisor for our Business Units and Functions enabling decision making and business value realization in alignment to LYBs strategic priorities. The BI Leader will own the outcomes manage the innovation pipeline and endtoend delivery for the overall portfolio including operations and lifecycle management.

The Digital Technology Business Interface Leader reports directly to the Chief Digital & Information Officer is part of the global DT leadership team and has direct accountability for the various business and/ or functional areas to define influence shape manage evaluate and prioritize DT initiatives to ensure they are operationally executable and aligned to both the enterprise and the departmental strategic objectives. The position will work with business/function and corporate department senior management to ensure the successful delivery of engagements and programs focused on various DT Strategies (Technology Lifecycle Management Business Process Standardization Standards Master Data Governance Change Management etc. The objectives will be to identify prioritize and focus efforts on those programs and solutions that will yield the optimum gain in terms of revenue process improvement productivity and benefit to the corporation.This position can be based in the LyondellBasell Tower in Houston Texas or in the Rotterdam The Netherlands office.

Roles & Responsibilities

This position reports to the Chief Digital & Information Officer and may from time to time be asked to sit as a member of other business functions leadership teams. The position will be responsible for setting the DT direction for the business unit / functional area worldwide.

This person will partner with the functional teams to develop strategic DT roadmaps short and longterm initiatives and project plans and identify technology trends and opportunities. The position interfaces frequently with executive leadership and will build and maintain relationships and interface regularly with strategic suppliers at all levels. The position will be responsible and accountable for the success of all DT initiatives across the various business partner organizations.

Specific areas of responsibility and influence include:

• Own business relationships with Business Units and Functional groups (inclusive of demand management). Work within DT organization to ensure expectations are met.
• Partner with business stakeholders to cocreate and sustain multiyear strategic roadmaps & ST innovation pipeline required to achieve business goals.
• Work with Enterprise Architecture to ensure the strategic business roadmaps are underpinned by appropriate digital technology.
• Enable forward looking investment planning for key budget cycles and ensure unplanned project requests and enhancements are guided through the DT Demand Intake Process.
• Single point of contact for: issue resolution DT Operations requests software & licensing requests cybersecurity and digital solutions.
• Partner with business stakeholders to ensure Digital Technology is an integrated component of asset site and business strategies.
• Partner with the global business partners to provide tactical and strategic technology services and solutions that align with the respective business strategy.
• Identify & develop multiyear roadmaps and investment goals which are aligned to enterprisewide longterm business strategies and objectives.
• Lead consulting and/or project teams to deliver engagements including: mission and DT requirements business justification models business use cases reengineered process and/or workflows program plans and roadmaps organizational designs change management and communication plans business and technical architectures and business capabilities and solutions.
• Identify & develop multiyear roadmaps and investment goals which are aligned to enterprisewide longterm business strategies and objectives.
• Implement strategies that will deliver appropriate level of technology to the business in a costeffective manner.
• Identify opportunities for global process consolidation and productivity improvements.
• Inform business leadership on accelerators that can be leveraged for information systems & emerging technologies.
• Establish metrics required to measure DT performance and recommend the goforward strategy to address performance gaps.
• Build relationships; manage/partner with multiple level contacts and act as a trusted advisor.

Additional Responsibilities

• Act as the global liaison to ensure programs and solutions are delivered on behalf of the business.
• Manage the enhancement of systems to allow the business segments to lead in their industry.
• Influence the business strategies and processes to ensure that delivery capabilities are aligned to current and future business needs.
• Anticipate and alert the senior executive team of financial issues and opportunities within the designated business units.
• Establish and maintain relationships including communication report delivery project management and strategy development.
• Collaborate closely with multiple parties from corporate services LYB (across the company) and other partners. Work independently and consult with LYB executives on high level complex issues. Work with teams of multiple parties at the business unit program or project level.
• Oversee the management and implementation of mid and large scale projects ensuring time quality and budget goals are met while still delivering capabilities that align to what the business needs currently and in the future
• Manage overall dashboard to keep team accountable and ontime in commitment to business partners.
  

Min. Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Information technology engineering or related discipline required. A Masters Degree is preferred.
• A minimum of 15 years of experience of which at least 8 years are in a senior technology position in a multientity complex global environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Annual investment budget for BUs & functions (projects and business applications).
• Demonstrated ability to interpret technology and market trends as a foundation for technology and product roadmaps.
• Must have experience in managing multiple concurrent initiatives and significant experience in the matrix management of resources across multiple groups.
• Extensive experience collaborating with solution information and application architects and infrastructure engineers to identify design and implement highly complex endtoend solutions.
• Broad and extensive business management skills and knowledge.
• Successful implementations of complex technical solutions including manufacturing systems/processes.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
• Respected leader with demonstrated ability to influence colleagues at senior junior and peer levels.
• Strong understanding and appropriate use of financial processes and techniques.
• Experience in forming strategic partnerships with technology and business partners in a collaborative manner.
• Strong analytical organizational prioritization and time management skills.
• Proven business case development skills including: experience with both quantitative and qualitative analysis.
• Skilled in the full client delivery lifecycle including: business planning; data analysis; process analysis and design; business and functional requirements analysis; program roadmap creation; design; build; test; implement and operate.
• Proven track record of delivering client programs and projects highlighted by strong: management skills including planning and estimating; delivery and deliverable creation; scope management; risk and issue management; and resources and budget management.
• International experience is a plus as this position conducts business globally and in areas/communities that have strong unique ethnic/cultural traditions.
