Title Safety Manager Location Alexandria Onsite Hybrid Optional Direct Reports 2 Reports to: President American Pan Europe & MENA Language: English C1 level required Job Description We are seeking a Safety Manager to ensure a safe and secure working environment by implementing and optimizing safety protocols in our 300employee plant in Alexandria Romania. In this newly created role reporting to the site administrator and leading a twoperson team you will define and lead the strategic direction for health & safety while driving initiatives that enhance safety culture. Responsibilities - Develop and implement sitespecific health & safety protocols to ensure full compliance with legal standards and new legislation and foster a culture that revolves around operating safely
- Ensure compliance with Romanian occupational safety laws
- Build strong relationships with business leadership to align health & safety objectives and requirements with operational priorities; develop and present insightful reports to highlight trends drive awareness and promote urgency in health & safety performance
- Integrate best practices into daily operations; take a proactive riskbased approach to identify and mitigate hazards in collaboration with crossfunctional teams
- Conduct coordinate and coach on risk assessments safety rounds external audits and reviews
- Evaluate the effectiveness of safety programs using established KPIs implementing corrective actions based on industry protocols and best practices
- Provide expert support in incident investigations offering guidance on corrective actions and preventive measures supporting facility emergency planning and response initiatives
- Ensure appropriate safety training for new hires and provide ongoing development for all employees; organize and oversee recurring training sessions for lock out tag out first aid workplace ergonomics and other key safety programs for both employees and managers
- Serve as the main point of contact for service providers/consultants (fire safety environmental pressure equipment inspection machinery commissioning etc.
Requirements - A relevant university degree plus safety management training.
- Risks evaluation expert certificate
- Solid knowledge of legal requirements industrial machinery best practices and safety protocols in Romania
- Fluency in both spoken and written English and Romanian required
- 5 years of experience driving a strong safety culture and program development within an industrial environment preferably metal stamping
- Some experience in a chemical processing environment or chemical substances and waste management is a plus
- Excellent interpersonal communication and relationshipbuilding skills with the ability to drive alignment on safety objectives without direct reporting authority
- Strong organizational skills influential leadership and ability to work with coordinate and support activities across multiple departments
- Expertise in risk assessment root cause analysis and qualitative incident investigations
- Ability to train and mentor employees effectively
