NOCCCD is now accepting applications for NonCredit Emeritus Instructor: Communication for Older Adults PoolPartTime at NOCE ! Courses in communication explore various topics. Books Come Alive for Older Adults Creative Writing for Seniors Journey Back into Time for Older Adults Senior Topics for Older Adults Mobile Information Literacy History of Comedy and Humor for Older Adults Most Emeritus classes may be offered Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00am and 8:30pm. Employees must reside in California while employed with NOCCCD even during remote work.

Desirable Qualifications
Masters degree in related field. Experience teaching Emeritus courses for adult education or community college. Experience with curriculum development. Experience successfully working in collaboration with fulltime and adjunct faculty in coordinating and maintaining currency of curriculum that responds to the needs of historically underrepresented students. Demonstrated success in helping students from historically underrepresented and/or marginalized groups nontraditional students speakers of other languages and students with learning disabilities.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors degree with a major related to the subject of the course taught and either: (A) Thirty hours or two semester units of course work or class work in understanding the needs of the older adult taken at an accredited institution of higher education or approved by the district. This requirement may be completed concurrently during the first year of employment as a noncredit instructor; or (B) One year of professional experience working with older adults OR Associate degree with a major related to the subject of the course taught; and two years of occupational experience related to the subject of the course taught; and sixty hours or four semester units of coursework or classwork in understanding the needs of the older adult taken at an accredited institution of higher education or approved by the district. This last requirement may be completed concurrently during the first year of employment as a noncredit instructor; OR Possess a valid California teaching credential authorizing service in a community college in the appropriate subject matter area; OR The equivalent. Equivalent qualifications may include related education training employment and professional experience that would be equal to the required degree(s) and experience in this field as determined by the District Equivalency Committee.
