Automotive Technician Summary
Functions as an experienced technician who can diagnose and repair most vehicle components with little supervision and has previously worked as a B or CClass general service technician.
Automotive Technician Essential Duties
- Performs work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy by the dealership and factory standards.
- Diagnoses the cause of most malfunctions and performs repair.
- Examines assigned vehicle to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended.
- Communicates with the service advisor immediately if additional work is needed if the work outlined is not needed or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time.
- Documents all work performed and recommended on the repair order.
- Road tests vehicles when required or refers to the test technician.
- Participates in manufacturersponsored training programs schools and events.
- Keeps abreast of manufacturer technical bulletins.

Qualifications
Automotive Technician Qualifications
- Line tech experience preferred in an Automotive shop or dealership.
- Hold a valid drivers license.
- Ability to maintain a professional appearance and provide friendly customer service.
- Must read interpret and transcribe data to maintain accurate records.
- Perform routine maintenance and other tasks in a fastpaced environment.
- May lift objects that weigh as much as 50 lbs.
- Good handeye coordination.
