Primary Purpose
Duties and responsibilities as presented are intended to be representative and not restrictive. The District reserves the right to modify the assignment and allocation of duties in accordance with operational needs.
Job Description
North Orange County Community College District is now accepting applications for an Adjunct Instructor to teach for the Quality Assurance for Medical Devices Program at our North Orange Continuing Education campus in Anaheim. Adjunct faculty are hired in a parttime capacity on a semesterbysemester basis contingent upon the needs of the school and student demand. The instructor is responsible for providing meaningful quality instruction and workforce preparation to students that meet the program and course objectives. The Adjunct Faculty will teach a variety of Career Technical Education CTE classes covered in the Quality Assurance for Medical Devices Certificate Program. This includes but is not limited to the following topics: laws governing the development manufacturing and approval of medical devices; document control and database management; methods tools and concepts of quality and design control; technical writing for the bio medical industry and quality audits.
Essential Functions
Examples of essential functions are interpreted as being descriptive and not restrictive in nature.
Desirable Qualifications
A bachelors degree in the related subject and minimum two years experience in quality assurance for medical devices. Experience teaching adult students from diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds and varying levels of proficiency. A working knowledge of and experience with student learning outcomes and assessment. Demonstrated success in helping students from historically underrepresented and/or marginalized groups nontraditional students speakers of other languages and students with learning disabilities.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors degree; AND two years of occupational experience related to the subject of the course taught OR Associate degree; AND six years of occupational experience related to the subject of the course taught OR Possession of a fulltime clear California Designated Subjects Adult Education Teaching Credential authorizing instruction in the subject matter OR For courses in an occupation for which the district offers or has offered apprenticeship instruction the minimum qualifications for noncredit apprenticeship instructors in that occupation as specified in title 5 section 53413. Commitment to diversity. All applicants must have demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic socioeconomic cultural disability gender gender identity sexual orientation and ethnic backgrounds of community college students faculty and staff. The applicant must be able to demonstrate how these factors relate to the need for equity minded practices within the classroom.
