The Mapleton Foundry is looking to hire Foundry Specialists! As a Foundry Specialist at Caterpillar Inc. you will perform a variety of manual and/or machine functions related to core making such as dipping inspecting and assembling cores. You will also operate and/or lock out equipment to clean molding floor and reclaim or dispose of sand in basement levels.
Job Duties/Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Core box mounting
- Mixing and testing core sand
- Bolt threading
- Molding functions such as preparing pouring basins
- Mold spraying drying and/or venting
- Operating punchout and related equipment
- Finishing functions such as riser breaking
- Hand chipping and finning
- Operating shakeouts stand and portable grinders
- Ability to operate powered industrial vehicles
Minimum Qualifications:
- Oneyear prior manufacturing work experience
- Ability to frequently lift and carry boxes weighing up to 35 pounds
- Ability to stand throughout an 8 to 12hour shift
- Ability to operate heavy machinery and manufacturing equipment
Top candidates will also have:
- Previous machine shop or foundry experience
- Computer knowledge
- Verbal and written communication skills
- Problem solving and decisionmaking
- Math skills
