Job Description
Primary Purpose
Duties and responsibilities as presented are intended to be representative and not restrictive. The District reserves the right to modify the assignment and allocation of duties in accordance with operational needs.
Job Description
Video and Scenic Projections Classes are held Mondays and Wednesdays from 11:20 AM1:25 PM in the Spring semester. Additional design/mentorship opportunities may present themselves as needed.
Essential Functions
Examples of essential functions are interpreted as being descriptive and not restrictive in nature.
Desirable Qualifications
Prior teaching experience within the topics of theatrical and event video and projections. Proficient working knowledge and experience with QLab projectors edge blending and Apple computers. Familiarity with show control and DMX peripherals. Software experience with Disguise Watchout Green Hippo or other media server platforms. Understanding of CTE program objectives with a robust background in theatrical video and projections work at a theme park or entertainment venue. Experience working with Canvas or similar Learning Management System LMS . Detailed experience teaching technical theatre courses especially introductory classes with innovative teaching practices supporting success and retention of women students of color and students with disabilities. Experience collaborating with faculty staff and/or community leaders in programs and initiatives that are specifically designed to assist historically underrepresented students achieve their educational goals.
Minimum Qualifications
Any Bachelors degree or higher AND two years of professional experience directly related to the facultys teaching assignment OR Any Associate degree AND six years of professional experience directly related to the faculty members teaching assignment OR Possess a valid California teaching credential authorizing service in a community college in the appropriate subject matter area. Commitment to diversity. All applicants must have demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic socioeconomic cultural disability gender gender identity sexual orientation and ethnic backgrounds of community college students faculty and staff. The applicant must be able to demonstrate how these factors relate to the need for equity minded practices within the classroom.
