Job Description

Job Title: Instructional Coach Gr 912Supervisor: Principal or Designee Start Date: July 1 2025 June 30 2026Position Type: FullTime 12 MonthsHours: 8:00 AM 3:30 PMPosition OverviewThe Instructional Coach Grades 912 plays a critical role in supporting and developing teaching practices at Codman Academy. The Instructional Coach will work closely with high school educators to improve instructional practices enhance student learning and support teachers in the implementation of the schools curriculum. This position requires a highly collaborative reflective and resourceful individual who is committed to student achievement and instructional excellence.Key ResponsibilitiesCoaching and Professional DevelopmentProvide individualized coaching to teachers to support their professional growth and instructional effectiveness.Plan and deliver professional development sessions focused on instructional strategies curriculum implementation classroom management and student engagement.Observe classroom instruction providing feedback to teachers based on best practices and student outcomes.Support teachers in the development and implementation of instructional units that are rigorous culturally responsive and aligned with the schools mission and curriculum.Collaboration and SupportCollaborate with school leadership to align instructional practices and curricular goals across all grade levels and subject areas.Facilitate weekly team meetings to discuss student progress curriculum implementation and teaching strategies.Work with teachers to differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students.Support teacher teams in analyzing student data to identify trends set goals and develop action plans for improvement.Help implement and support the Student Support Team (SST) to ensure that students receive the appropriate level of support.Instructional Design and ImplementationAssist teachers in designing and planning lessons that promote critical thinking inquiry and a growth mindset.Evaluate and recommend instructional materials and resources to support teachers in delivering highquality instruction.Support teachers in the integration of technology into the curriculum to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.Model effective teaching practices in the classroom and provide demonstration lessons to support teacher development.DataDriven Decision MakingWork with teachers to analyze student performance data to monitor progress and adjust instructional strategies.Provide support in the interpretation of assessment data helping teachers understand how to use this information to adjust teaching practices.Support teachers in the use of formative and summative assessments to drive instructional planning and measure student progress.School Culture and CommunityFoster a culture of collaboration trust and professional growth among faculty and staff.Encourage the development of a studentcentered classroom environment that supports high expectations and academic achievement.Support teachers in building strong relationships with students to promote socialemotional development and academic success.Qualifications & ExperienceRequiredBachelors degree in education or a related field.At least 3 years of successful teaching experience in Grades 912.Strong knowledge of instructional strategies curriculum design and assessment practices.Experience with data analysis and the use of data to inform instructional decisions.Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with teachers and school leadership.Commitment to continuous professional development and staying current with educational best practices.Additional duties may be assigned by the supervisor.PreferredMasters degree in education instructional leadership or a related field.Experience as an instructional coach or in a leadership role within a school setting.Familiarity with culturally responsive teaching and diverse learning needs.Experience working with technology tools to support teaching and learning.Teaching certification in a relevant subject area.Familiarity with EL educationSkills and CharacteristicsStrong organizational and problemsolving skills.Ability to work collaboratively and foster a culture of professional growth and support.A studentcentered mindset focused on improving outcomes for all learners.Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and apply data effectively.Adaptability and willingness to engage in ongoing professional learning and feedback.Salary Range: $80000 $87900Why Join Codman AcademyCodman Academy is a missiondriven charter school committed to providing a rigorous and inclusive educational experience.
