Job Summary: The Safety Officer is responsible for ensuring the health and safety of all employees contractors and visitors within the workplace. The role involves monitoring and enforcing safety protocols conducting risk assessments and ensuring compliance with relevant health and safety laws and regulations.

Qualification B. Tech (eng) / Diploma in safety Proven experience in a textile / process industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Proven experience in a textile / process industry.
- Conducting safety audits on personnel equipment and materials.
- Evaluating safety procedures and policies.
- Undertaking risk assessment of processes equipment to identify hazards including fire to ensure that appropriate control measures are in place.
- Issuing of work permits and ensuring that jobs are done with all safety precautions.
- Analyzing inquiring and evaluating accident reports based on available facts and applying corrective /preventive actions Preparing and conducting safety training sessions for employees / contract workers and vendors Ensuring compliance with all regulatory bodies and standards (including OSHA etc. Conversant with ISO 9001/ ISO 14001/ OSHAS requirements.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections of the workplace to ensure adherence to safety protocols. Maintain uptodate records of safety inspections incidents and corrective actions.
- Conduct safety training programs for employees to ensure awareness of safety protocols and emergency procedures. Organize drills for fire evacuation first aid and other emergency response actions.
- Promote a safetyfirst culture across all levels of the organization. Identify workplace hazards and risks and implement strategies to minimize them.
- Conduct risk assessments for new projects processes and equipment. Collaborate with management to develop safety improvement initiatives
- Investigate accidents near misses and unsafe conditions providing detailed reports and recommendations for corrective actions.
- Maintain incident records and track trends to identify areas for improvement. Ensure that safety equipment (e.g. PPE firstaid kits fire extinguishers) is available properly maintained and accessible.
- Oversee the proper usage of all safety equipment and resources by employees.
- Prepare and present regular safety reports to management highlighting key safety performance indicators incidents and ongoing initiatives. Ensure that all safetyrelated documentation is filed and accessible for audits.
- Develop and maintain emergency response plans. Act as the first responder in emergencies providing assistance and coordinating actions until further support arrives.
