Job Description Summary

Summary:
The Director of Annual Giving is responsible for the strategic planning and management of all annual fund solicitations and initiatives to maximize donor engagement and revenue. This role encompasses a multifaceted approach including developing and implementing comprehensive communication strategies across digital mail and web platforms (deaconclub). The Director of Annual Giving manages a limited portfolio of donor prospects as well as mentor annual fund interns and manages a development fellow.

Job Description

Essential Functions:

  • Strategize coordinate update write and manage all annual fund solicitations using mail and various digital communications platforms.

  • Serves as a liaison with Wake Forest Athletic creative service team.

  • Manages Deacon Club website including the functionality and content.

  • Collaborates with the Universitys CER team

  • Maintain and update all annual fund collateral (membership guide ILC Investment reports membership packets etc..

  • Coordinate with outside Ad Agencies as needed for creative needs.

  • Plan and execute annual fund donor acquisition initiatives (Giving Day) and other targeted microcampaigns.

  • Create and implement revenuedriving themes (Next Level Pledge Campaign) and initiatives (In Her Wake).

  • Coordinates the intern program for Athletic development staff. Provides orientation and updates the intern manual as needed.

  • Supervises the development fellow to update calling officer portfolios

  • Assists with the Athletics fundraising reporting; tracks progress towards fundraising goals accomplishments and achievements.

  • Manage a limited portfolio of donor prospects.

  • Use Deacon Advancement Database (DAD) to effectively maintain prospect information including all related fundraising modules to ensure individual and team goals are being met in a timely manner.

  • Other duties as assigned.


Required Education Knowledge Skills Abilities:

  • Bachelors degree plus two years related experience in a fundraising or development role

  • Knowledge of NCAA regulations and guidelines.

  • Knowledge of office management principles and procedures.

  • Ability to organize workflow manage resources and coordinate activities.

  • Skill in MS Office products (Word Excel PowerPoint Email) and other relevant software. Ability to learn new software necessary to assist in office administration.

  • Ability to transcribe dictation with accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Demonstrated effective communication skills both verbally and in writing; strong interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with all members of a diverse community to manage a variety of tasks and complex projects with follow through and completion in a timely manner.

  • General knowledge of budget development and fiscal management.

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret policies and procedures budget guidelines etc.

  • Ability to manage and maintain confidentiality of information.

  • Ability to make independent decisions demonstrating sound judgment and discretion.

  • Ability to research and resolve office management problems and questions.

  • Able to meet the requirements of the Universitys automobile insurance policy.


Preferred Education Knowledge Skills Abilities:

  • Knowledge of fundraising procedures and reporting in college athletics.

  • Experience in supervising staff.

  • Ability to work nights weekends and travel as needed.
