Job Summary
The Director of Scholarships provides leadership in the operation of the Scholarships Office and the awarding of university scholarships as well as related financial aid to achieve enrollment objectives and maintain compliance; work collaboratively with the Office of Development in the areas of donor stewardship and scholarship development; maintain high quality relationships with university departments parents students alumni and donors.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Supervise and lead full time staff who are responsible for processing departmental private and athletic scholarship funds. Manage UTAs institutional general recruitment scholarship program. Assist in developing awarding criteria and programming to identify qualified candidates to increase the number of high achieving students. Create award plans to support enrollment goals in accordance with the institutional financial aid leveraging model. Monitor procedures and review and evaluate reports for trends and progress. Monitor and manage endowed departmental scholarships to meet enrollment goals and ensure annual spending targets are met effectively using scholarship management software. Using scholarships as a recruitment tool communicate with prospective and current students and families in person in writing by telephone and through an effective updated website regarding scholarship opportunities. Collaborate with staff from Recruitment and Admissions Processing in support of recruitment efforts to meet enrollment goals. Represent the university at recruitment and other programming where scholarships provide increased value to the audience. Collaborate with the Financial Aid Office to provide coordinated information regarding financial aid and scholarships to prospective and current students to leverage financial packages to the benefit of students. Serve on internal and external committees as appropriate including Financial Aid liaison on the Athletics Council keeping current on NCAA regulations as they apply to athletic scholarship aid and the University Endowment Compliance Committee assisting in creating institutional policies and monitoring procedures. Administer state scholarship programs in years that funds are available including accurately awarding funds and completing required reports. Perform other duties assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors degree with a minimum of five 5 years experience in financial aid scholarship or enrollment management administration including three 3 years experience supervising full time staff.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with the administration of scholarships through Next Gen Scholarship Management System or other endowment management systems ImageNow or other document imaging systems and website maintenance software. Experience using CRM . Experience and ability to design programmatic growth that reaches established student enrollment and retention goals as outlined in the financial aid leveraging plan. Working knowledge of Title IV regulations
Work Schedule
Monday Friday; 8:00am 5:00pm.
