Job Description
Job Title: Asphalt Inspector
Job Location: New York City

Responsibilities:
- Conduct field inspections and monitor construction activities.
- Collect and test construction materials (soils concrete masonry etc..
- Cast field samples for strength verification.
- Prepare and submit daily field reports.
- Provide progress updates to the Department Manager.
- Communicate with contractors stakeholders and project teams.
- Transport equipment to site technicians.
- Ensure compliance with contract documents and industry standards.
- Identify and report defects or noncompliance issues.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation.
- Perform other administrative tasks as required.
Requirements:
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma/GED or BSCE
- 3 years of experience in construction inspection/testing
Certifications:
- NJSAT
- NICET Highway Level 2
- Alfred State University Hot Mix Asphalt
Skills:
- Basic math skills
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to read maps and interpret engineering plans
- Good computer skills
- Weather conditions
Additional Requirements:
- Reliable transportation (personal vehicle)
- Ability to work weekends and overtime
