Job Description

We are seeking a diligent and enthusiastic Junior IT Technician to join our IT Services team. This role involves providing technical support assisting with the installation and maintenance of IT systems and ensuring the smooth operation of hardware and software for our clients. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is starting their career in IT and is eager to develop their skills in a dynamic environment.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Support:

    • Provide firstline technical support to clients and internal users troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
    • Assist with the setup and configuration of computer systems printers and other IT equipment.
    • Respond to and resolve help desk tickets on time escalating issues when necessary.
  • Installation and Maintenance:

    • Assist in the installation configuration and maintenance of hardware software and networking equipment.
    • Perform routine maintenance on IT systems including updates backups and security checks.
    • Ensure that all IT equipment is functioning optimally and efficiently.
  • Network Support:

    • Assist with the setup and management of network systems including routers switches and wireless networks.
    • Troubleshoot network connectivity issues and ensure stable and secure network operations.
  • Documentation and Reporting:

    • Maintain accurate records of all support requests resolutions and technical activities.
    • Document procedures for common technical tasks and issues.
    • Prepare regular reports on system performance support requests and any issues encountered.
  • User Training:

    • Assist in training users on new hardware and software ensuring they are comfortable and proficient with the technology.
    • Provide guidance and support for users to ensure the effective use of IT systems.

Qualifications:

  • Education:

    • A diploma or certificate in Information Technology Computer Science or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience:

    • 02 years of experience in an IT support or technical role.
    • Basic understanding of computer hardware operating systems (especially Microsoft Windows) and common software applications.
    • Experience with networking and troubleshooting is a plus.
  • Skills:

    • Strong problemsolving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues.
    • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
    • Good organizational skills with attention to detail.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and basic IT tools.
  • Certifications (Preferred but not required):

    • CompTIA A or equivalent certification.
    • Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) or similar certification.

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong customer service orientation with a focus on delivering highquality support.
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry IT equipment such as computers and networking devices.
  • Willingness to occasionally travel to client sites for onsite support.
