HWI has a fantastic opportunity to join our organization as a Facility Environmental Services Administrator I.

Summary:

The Facility Environmental Services Administrator I is a specialized and critical position accountable for contributing to HarbisonWalker International overall business performance by ensuring compliance with occupational safety and health regulations environmental regulations and corporate policies and programs in HarbisonWalker Internationals production facility.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring facility is in compliance with occupational EH&S regulations and corporate EH&S policies and programs; investigating accident/near misses and managing workers compensation issues
  • Conducting facility audits to verify compliance with EH&S regulatory and corporate requirements; promoting safety awareness; planning and leading facility safety activities
  • Leveraging the HarbisonWalker International Business system to drive EH&S performance.
  • Assisting corporate EH&S staff with data acquisition reporting permitting etc.
  • Leading facility safety committee; preparing reports related to meeting agendas/actions.
  • Conducting monthly and annual training for all employees on safety topics
  • Coordinating and leading HarbisonWalker Business Systems (HBS) activities and improvements.

Requirements:

  • Requires High School diploma or G.E.D equivalent
  • Prefers B.S. degree in safety/environmental or related field
  • Requires up to two 2 years of industrial/manufacturing safety experience with a general knowledge of environmental regulations.
  • Requires computer operation skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite CAD and Oracle ERP
  • Strong analytical interpersonal and communications skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 Quality Standards Quality Management Systems
  • Knowledge of LEAN Manufacturing and LEAN Management principles
  • Knowledge of OSHA EPA and workers compensation regulations and practice
Physical and Environmental Requirements:
  • Physical Activity: Requires more than 2/3 of time talking or hearing; 1/3 to 2/3 of time standing walking and / or sitting; and less than 1/3 of time using hands and fingers reaching climbing/balancing stooping/kneeling/crouching/crawling; and/or tasting/smelling.
  • Lifting: Requires lifting sometimes in excess of 100 pounds less than 1/3 of time.
  • Vision: Requires accurate close and distance vision color and peripheral vision depth perception and the ability to focus.
  • Environment: Requires 1/3 to 2/3 of time working near moving mechanical parts and less than 1/3 of time exposed to fumes or airborne particles working with explosives in an office setting working in high precarious places exposed to outdoor weather extreme heat vibration and/or the risk of electrical shock.
  • Noise: Requires exposure to moderate noise.
