TheAssistant Manager Safetywill be responsible fordeveloping implementing and enforcing safety policiesrelated toslag management and metal recovery operations. This role involves conducting risk assessments ensuring regulatory compliance leading safety training initiatives andmanaging a teamto foster a strong culture of safety.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Safety Management & Compliance:
- Develop implement and enforcesafety policies and proceduresrelated to slag management and metal recovery.
- Conductregular safety inspections and auditsto identify potential hazards and ensure compliance.
- Investigateincidents and accidents determine causes and implement corrective measures to prevent recurrence.
- Ensure compliance withlocal state and federal safety regulationsand industryspecific guidelines.
- Maintain accuraterecords of safety inspections training incidents and corrective actions.
2. Risk Assessment & Mitigation:
- Performrisk assessmentsandJob Safety Analyses (JSAs)for all slag management and metal recovery operations.
- Develop and implementrisk mitigation strategiesto minimize workplace hazards.
- Monitor theeffectiveness of risk management plansand adjust as necessary.
3. Training & Development:
- Organize and conductsafety training sessionsfor employees to promote awareness of safety best practices.
- Ensure all personnel aretrained in the proper use of safety equipmentand emergency response protocols.
- Stay updated onindustry best practices and regulatory changes incorporating them into safety training programs.
4. Emergency Preparedness:
- Develop and maintainemergency response plans and proceduresfor slag management and metal recovery operations.
- Coordinate and conductemergency drillsto ensure preparedness among employees.
- Act as theprimary point of contact during safety emergencies ensuring timely and effective response coordination.
5. Team Management & Leadership:
- Lead and manage thesafety team ensuring clear roles responsibilities and performance expectations.
- Supervise and mentorsafety officers and coordinators providing guidance and professional development.
- Conductregular team meetingsto review safety performance share updates and drive continuous improvement.
- Promote aculture of safetyby collaborating with operational managers supervisors and employees.
